Stabilizing the isolated Pt sites on PtGa/Al2O3 catalyst via silica coating layers for propane dehydrogenation at low temperature

Peng Wang et al.

Summary: This study presents a strategy to reduce Pt loading and improve propane non-oxidative dehydrogenation activity using silica coating, resulting in a stable catalyst with high activity at low temperature. The prepared 2.5%Si@PtGa/Al2O3 catalyst exhibits outstanding catalytic activity near equilibrium conversion and better stability at 450 degrees C, showcasing a new method to utilize metal-support interaction in catalysis.

Summary: CO2-assisted propane dehydrogenation was studied on Pt-Sn/MgAl2O4 catalysts, and the effects of reduction and oxidation on the catalyst's structure and activity were investigated. It was found that CO2 can enhance the conversion of propane, but high concentrations of CO2 can lead to catalyst deactivation.

Effect of the K loading on effective activation energy of isobutane dehydrogenation over chromia/alumina catalysts

D. A. Nazimov et al.

Summary: The effect of potassium loading on the catalyst depends on its interaction with alumina, with lower loadings enhancing conversion and selectivity up to 2.0 wt.% without affecting the activation energy significantly, while higher loadings can directly affect the activation energy and potentially form new active sites.

Enhanced selectivity and stability of Pt-Ge/Al2O3 catalysts by Ca promotion in propane dehydrogenation

Sajjad Rimaz et al.

Summary: The addition of Ca reduced the acid centers of Al2O3 and increased the degree of alloy formation, leading to enhanced propylene selectivity and catalyst stability. The Ca-promoted catalyst showed lower deactivation rate and higher residual activity compared to the non-promoted catalyst, resulting in better performance in terms of activity and selectivity at steady state conditions.

Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Propane to Propylene with Soft Oxidants via Heterogeneous Catalysis

Xiao Jiang et al.

Summary: Oxidative dehydrogenation of propane to propylene can be achieved using conventional oxygen-assisted dehydrogenation or soft oxidants. Soft oxidants play important roles in inhibiting overoxidation and improving propylene selectivity. Significant efforts have been focused on developing different catalysts with recent emphasis on halogens and hydrogen halides for ODHP processes.
