Modulating redox metabolism to improve isobutanol production in Shimwellia blattae

Miguel G. Acedos et al.

Summary: The addition of NADH-dependent alcohol dehydrogenase and PntAB transhydrogenase in Shimwellia blattae increased the isobutanol production. These modifications reduced by-products yields such as lactic acid or ethanol, showing improvements in yield from 11.9% to 14.4% and 16.4%, respectively.
