Determinants of Reactive Agility in Tests with Different Demands on Sensory and Motor Components in Handball Players

Henrieta Hornikova et al.

Summary: The study found a significant relationship between Y-shaped agility test time and 20m sprint time, as well as 505 Agility test time and Reactive Strength Index (RSI). However, no correlation was found with parameters related to reaction speed. Reactive Agility Test performance did not significantly correlate with several measures, indicating a difference in factors influencing different agility tests.

It's Time to Change Direction on Agility Research: a Call to Action

Warren Young et al.

Summary: Agility is a crucial skill for both attackers and defenders in invasion sports like football, requiring quick reactions to stimuli before changes in direction or speed. While change-of-direction (COD) ability is important for agility performance, it should not be the sole focus in research. Researchers studying invasion sports should aim to use agility tests rather than solely focusing on pre-planned COD movements.
