Analyzing the performance of variational quantum factoring on a superconducting quantum processor

Amir H. Karamlou et al.

Summary: This study explores a quantum optimization approach based on QAOA and demonstrates the factorization of integers using the VQF algorithm. The research investigates the trade-off between quantum resources and the success of factoring biprimes, as well as the impact of noise sources on QAOA performance.

Demonstration of a High-Fidelity CNOT Gate for Fixed-Frequency Transmons with Engineered ZZ Suppression

A. Kandala et al.

Summary: This study introduces a novel coupling architecture for transmon qubits that improves two-qubit gate performance and suppresses cross talk; by using two fixed frequency coupling elements, it achieves intrinsic suppression of static ZZ while maintaining large effective coupling rates; through cross-resonance interaction, a 180 ns single-pulse controlled NOT (CNOT) gate with a fidelity of 99.77% is demonstrated.

Process tomography of robust dynamical decoupling with superconducting qubits

Alexandre M. Souza

Summary: In this study, dynamical decoupling sequences were tested on a single qubit using the Rigetti quantum computing platform. It was found that pulse imperfections limited the performance, but using robust sequences improved the effectiveness of dynamical decoupling. The tested sequences outperformed previous ones on the same platform.

Realization of High-Fidelity CZ and ZZ-Free iSWAP Gates with a Tunable Coupler

Youngkyu Sung et al.

Summary: High-fidelity two-qubit gates are crucial for quantum computation and simulation, but current frameworks do not fully address three-body multilevel dynamics. A new systematic approach is presented to optimize control and achieve CZ and ZZ-free iSWAP gates with high fidelity. Experimental results show interaction fidelities close to T-1 limits.

Floating Tunable Coupler for Scalable Quantum Computing Architectures

Eyob A. Sete et al.

Summary: In this study, a floating tunable coupler that achieves the zero-coupling condition without relying on direct qubit-qubit coupling capacitances is proposed. The polarity of the qubit-coupler couplings can be engineered to offset the constant qubit-qubit coupling, allowing for flexibility in designing large-scale quantum processors. Experimental results demonstrate the performance of the tunable coupler in both symmetric and asymmetric configurations.
