Magnetically Reusable Fe3O4@NC@Pt Catalyst for Selective Reduction of Nitroarenes

Jun Qiao et al.

Summary: A novel reusable Fe3O4@NC@Pt heterogeneous catalyst with good catalytic activity and wide substrates selectivity, especially for compounds containing halide and carbonyl groups, was successfully synthesized. The catalyst can be reused up to ten cycles without loss of catalytic activity, and can be used for facile synthesis of key pharmaceutical intermediate Lorlatini.

Magnetic Properties and SAR for Gadolinium-Doped Iron Oxide Nanoparticles Prepared by Hydrothermal Method

Heba Kahil et al.

Summary: This study investigates the production of gadolinium-doped iron oxide nanoparticles for use in magnetic fluid hyperthermia. The results show that gadolinium ions have a low solubility limit in the iron oxide lattice, causing distortion in the maghemite phase and formation of other phases. The addition of gadolinium results in lower saturation magnetization values, but the sample doped with gadolinium has the highest potential to produce heat at a frequency of 198 kHz.
