Synergistic in-situ growth of silver nanoparticles with nanozyme activity for dual-mode biosensing and cancer theranostics

Xin Hai et al.

Summary: A multifunctional nanocomposite of AgNPs@GQDs was prepared for dual-mode biosensing and cancer theranostics. The nanocomposite exhibited H2O2-responsive degradation for colorimetric/fluorescence sensing of H2O2, and showed good performance in cancer cell recognition and therapy through the synergistic anticancer effect of Ag+ and oxidized TA.

Dual-mode glucose nanosensor as an activatable theranostic platform for cancer cell recognition and cascades-enhanced synergetic therapy

Xin Hai et al.

Summary: This study developed an integrated dual-mode glucose nanosensor as an activable theranostic platform for cancer cell recognition and enhanced synergistic therapy of lymph cancer. The cascade catalytic reaction triggered by glucose led to the degradation and release of Ag+ in AgNPs@GQDs-GOx, resulting in a turn-off colorimetric and turn-on fluorescence nanosensor for cancer cell recognition. The glucose-responsive degradation of AgNPs@GQDs-GOx also facilitated the cascades-enhanced synergistic therapy of lymph cancer.

Reactive Oxygen Species-Regulating Strategies Based on Nanomaterials for Disease Treatment

Chenyang Zhang et al.

Summary: ROS play a vital role in physiological and pathological processes, and research on regulating ROS for disease treatments has gained wide attention. Advances in nanotechnology have led to the development of numerous nanomaterials with the ability to regulate ROS, aiming to find new and effective ROS-related nanotherapeutic modalities. Despite significant progress in ROS-based nanomedicines, there is a need to address fundamental principles for designing ROS-associated nanomedicines to minimize gaps in biomedical applications. This review summarizes current progress in ROS-associated nanomedicines in disease treatments and presents key principles for their design. Future perspectives in the development of ROS-associated nanomedicines are also discussed.
