Conjugation-Induced Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence: Photophysics of a Carbazole-Benzophenone Monomer-to-Tetramer Molecular Series

Qiang Wei et al.

Summary: Materials with thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) have been extensively studied for their application in organic light-emitting diodes. This work presents a strategy to transform non-TADF monomers into TADF oligomers, resulting in efficient TADF emission through the addition of electron-donating carbazole units onto a polymer backbone. The study shows the formation of an intramolecular charge-transfer state in dimers, leading to enhanced TADF emission efficiency.
