MATE-Type Proteins Are Responsible for Isoflavone Transportation and Accumulation in Soybean Seeds

Ming-Sin Ng et al.

Summary: Soybeans are nutritionally important for humans and animals, rich in proteins, oils, and health-beneficial isoflavones. Research shows that GmMATE1 and GmMATE2 play a role in promoting the accumulation of isoflavones in soybean cells, mainly located in the vacuolar membrane.

Making sense of the natural antisense transcript puzzle

Rodrigo Siqueira Reis et al.

Summary: In plants, thousands of genes are associated with antisense transcription, producing noncoding RNAs that play diverse roles in gene regulation. The evidence suggests that antisense transcription is not primarily involved in gene silencing, but has a broad and diverse function in gene regulation. A framework for the functional dissection of antisense transcripts is proposed to move beyond the gene silencing paradigm.

Identification of Small RNAs During High Light Acclimation in Arabidopsis thaliana

Bhavika Tiwari et al.

Summary: This study investigated the transcriptome data of Arabidopsis plants subjected to high light conditions, identifying a large number of high light responsive miRNAs and sRNAs derived from NAT gene pairs, lncRNAs, and TAS transcripts. The study provides a deeper understanding of sRNA-dependent regulatory networks in high light acclimation.
