Predictors of non-pulmonary vein foci in paroxysmal atrial fibrillation

Keita Watanabe et al.

Summary: The study identified female gender, lower BMI, absence of hypertension, and higher E/e' ratio as significant predictors of non-PV foci in patients with paroxysmal AF. Having all four factors was associated with 96.8% specificity in detecting non-PV foci. These factors could be useful in selecting a device for performing pulmonary vein isolation.

Summary: In patients with paroxysmal AF, Cryo-PVI and HPSD-RFCA showed comparable clinical effectiveness and safety, with no significant difference in recurrence rates or major complications. Cryo-PVI had the advantage of shorter procedure times.
