Physician's presence in pre-hospital setting improves one-month favorable neurological survival after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest: A propensity score matching analysis of the JAAM-OHCA Registry

Toshihiro Hatakeyama et al.

Summary: This multicenter cohort study in Japan evaluated the effectiveness of physicians' presence in pre-hospital settings for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest patients. The study found a significantly improved one-month favorable neurological survival rate when physicians were present in pre-hospital settings compared to when they were absent.

Acute kidney injury after in-hospital cardiac arrest

Kenneth E. Mah et al.

Summary: A secondary analysis of the THAPCA-IH trial found that severe AKI occurred frequently after in-hospital cardiac arrest, especially in patients with preexisting cardiac or renal conditions and hemodynamic instability. Severe AKI was associated with decreased survival with favorable neurobehavioral outcome. Hypothermia did not decrease the incidence of severe AKI post-IHCA.
