Catalytic conversion of C1 molecules under mild conditions

Summary: C1 catalysis offers great potential for sustainable production of fuels and chemicals, but challenges remain in selectively activating and transforming C1 molecules due to the inert nature of certain bonds. Utilizing efficient catalysts under mild conditions can improve selectivity, while electro-catalysis and photo-catalysis offer promising ways to overcome thermodynamic limitations. Advances in catalyst synthesis, reactor design, and mechanism understanding have driven significant progress in C1 molecule conversion under mild conditions from 2010 to 2020.

Methane conversion to higher value-added product and energy co-generation using anodes OF PdCu/C in a solid electrolyte reactor: alkaline fuel cell type monitored by differential mass spectroscopy

Summary: The combination of PdxCuy/C catalysts was used in the partial oxidation of methane in a solid electrolyte reactor-alkaline fuel cell type. The best results for methane conversion into methanol and energy co-generation were achieved with Pd90Cu10/C and Pd50Cu50/C due to their superior H2O activation effects and adsorption sites for CH4 oxidation.
