Investigating the Compatibility of TTMSP and FEC Electrolyte Additives for LiNi0.5Mn0.3Co0.2O2 (NMC)-Silicon Lithium-Ion Batteries

Anulekha K. Haridas et al.

Summary: This study investigates the compatibility of multi-electrolyte additives for NMC-silicon lithium-ion batteries. The results show that at the optimal TTMSP/FEC ratio, the NMC-Si full-cells achieve a 2x longer cycle life and higher areal capacities with improved capacity retention. Furthermore, a detailed investigation of the electrode-electrolyte interfaces reveals the synergistic effects of electrolyte additives in stabilizing the interfaces and minimizing capacity degradation in NMC-Si full-cells.

Advanced in-situ characterizations of nanocomposite electrodes for sodium-ion batteries-A short review

Dongmei Lin et al.

Summary: Sodium-ion batteries are gaining attention as promising alternatives to lithium-ion batteries due to low cost and natural abundance of sodium reserves. Nanocomposites show high structure stability and superb conductivity for SIB electrodes, but still face issues like side reactions and low energy density. In-situ techniques, including TEM, XRD, XAS, and Raman spectroscopy, are emerging for better understanding the structural and kinetic processes in nanocomposite electrodes during charging/discharging.

Moisture-Driven Degradation Pathways in Prussian White Cathode Material for Sodium-Ion Batteries

Dickson O. Ojwang et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigated the influence of humidity on the structural and electrochemical properties of Prussian white, revealing that moisture-driven capacity fading proceeds in two steps, with the first step being reversible and the second step irreversible. The research provides insight into the performance variations of Prussian white and could guide the design of strategies to limit moisture-driven degradation.
