A Multi-Start Algorithm for Solving the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem with Two-Dimensional Loading Constraints

Summary: This paper presents a multistart algorithm for solving the capacitated vehicle routing problem with 2D loading constraints, combining Constructive Genetic Algorithm, Tabu Search, and Large Neighborhood Search. The framework outperformed most previous approaches, with enhanced performance through parallel mechanisms and memory structures. The combination of algorithms led to higher quality solutions for large-size instances of the pure CVRP.
