Fabrication of copper centered metal organic framework and nitrogen, sulfur dual doped graphene oxide composite as a novel electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction

Seyed Ali Mousavi et al.

Summary: The study focuses on synthesizing a free platinum electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) applications by incorporating Nitrogen and Sulfur Dual Doped Reduced Graphene Oxide (NS RGO) into Copper centered Metal Organic Framework (Cu MOF) to enhance ORR kinetics and electrochemistry activity. The best ORR activity was observed in the 8% NS RGO Cu MOF catalyst, which showed properties favoring the 4e-pathway for ORR. This new cost-effective NS RGO Cu MOF composite could aid in the development of fuel cell technology.

Effect of Sn Doping on Pd Electro-Catalysts for Enhanced Electro-Catalytic Activity towards Methanol and Ethanol Electro-Oxidation in Direct Alcohol Fuel Cells

Cyril Tlou Selepe et al.

Summary: Carbon nano-onions (CNOs) were successfully synthesized using flame pyrolysis, with Pd-Sn/CNOs electro-catalysts showing improved performance in methanol and ethanol electro-oxidation under alkaline conditions. The characterization techniques confirmed the structure and properties of the materials, with PdSn alloy formation on the CNO surface contributing to the enhanced catalytic activity.

Life cycle assessment and exergoeconomic analysis of the multi-generation system based on fuel cell for methanol, power, and heat production

Mehdi Mehrpooya et al.

Summary: The main purpose of the present investigation is to evaluate a multi-generation process using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and exergoeconomic analysis methods. The study found that the burner needs to be redesigned to improve the cost-effectiveness of the system, and operating conditions of selected devices should be modified to reduce the negative environmental impacts of the system.
