Impact of exogenously applied trehalose on leaf biochemistry, achene yield and oil composition of sunflower under drought stress

Firdos Kosar et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that external application of trehalose can significantly reduce relative membrane permeability and hydrogen peroxide accumulation, while also helping to improve plant growth, oxidative defense system, yield, and oil composition under water-limited conditions.

Thiamin stimulates growth and secondary metabolites in turnip (Brassica rapa L.) leaf and root under drought stress

Munifa Jabeen et al.

Summary: Foliar application of thiamin significantly improves growth attributes, photosynthetic pigments, osmoprotectants, AsA, total phenolics, and enzymatic antioxidant activity while reducing H(2)O(2) and MDA content under drought stress conditions in turnip cultivars. Thiamin-induced growth is associated with increased levels of proline, GB, and antioxidant capacity, and decreased levels of ROS. Exogenous thiamin application can be effective in improving drought tolerance of plants.

Physiological Activity, Nutritional Composition, and Gene Expression in Apple (Malus domestica Borkh) Influenced by Different ETc Levels of Irrigation at Distinct Development Stages

Rafiya Mushtaq et al.

Summary: Efficient irrigation management is crucial for plant growth and nutrient uptake. Drip irrigation at 100% ETc increased leaf area by 60% compared to rainfed conditions. Optimum irrigation levels significantly influence nutrient concentrations in leaf tissues.

Deciphering Reserve Mobilization, Antioxidant Potential, and Expression Analysis of Starch Synthesis in Sorghum Seedlings under Salt Stress

Himani Punia et al.

Summary: Salt stress has a significant adverse impact on plant growth and agricultural productivity worldwide. Sorghum, a valuable food source, has been studied to understand the mechanisms of salt stress and their cellular responses. The study reveals that salinity affects seed germination, antioxidant potential, and expression of starch synthesis genes, with SSG 59-3 showing promising results in alleviating salt stress effects.
