Origins of the long-range exciton diffusion in perovskite nanocrystal films: photon recycling vs exciton hopping

David Giovanni et al.

Summary: Research found that excitons in CH3NH3PbBr3 perovskite nanocrystal films can travel over 1 micrometer mainly due to exciton hopping between nanocrystals and, to a lesser extent, photon recycling generating more charge carriers. Perovskite nanocrystals connected by octylamine ligands exhibited the longest exciton hopping range compared to other connection modes. This discovery highlights the potential of lead halide perovskite nanocrystal films for optoelectronic applications and enhances understanding of long-range energy transport mechanisms.

Research and progress of black metastable phase CsPbI3 solar cells

Huanhuan Yao et al.

Summary: Recent attention has been focused on all-inorganic perovskite semiconductors, particularly CsPbI3, for their excellent thermal stability and potential in achieving high power conversion efficiency. However, the instability of CsPbI3 at room temperature, where its black phase easily transitions into a non-perovskite phase, poses challenges for commercial applications. While the cubic phase can be obtained at high temperature, the harsh preparation conditions limit its widespread use, making the metastable phases (beta, gamma) more promising due to their relative stability and lower phase transition temperature in improving the performance and stability of CsPbI3 perovskite solar cells.
