Enhancement of the Concrete Durability with Hybrid Nano Materials

Heba A. Gamal et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that incorporating hybrid nanomaterials in concrete can significantly enhance the density, mechanical properties, durability, and corrosion resistance of the concrete. In particular, adding carbon nanotubes (CNTs) into nano-clay-based concrete improves the corrosion resistance and crack resistance within the concrete matrix. The results prove that the incorporation of hybrid nano CNT and NC leads to better performance for mechanical strength and durability properties.

The selective adsorption performance and mechanism of multiwall magnetic carbon nanotubes for heavy metals in wastewater

Zhongbing Wang et al.

Summary: A new type of recyclable adsorbent, 6O-MWCNTs@Fe3O4, with excellent adsorption performance has been synthesized in this study, which can efficiently treat heavy metal ions in wastewater. The modification with magnetic nanoparticles not only inherits the advantages of multiwall carbon nanotubes, but also enhances the adsorption capacity and facilitates the magnetic separation and recovery of heavy metals.
