Two-photon lithography for three-dimensional fabrication in micro/ nanoscale regime: A comprehensive review

V. Harinarayana et al.

Summary: With the introduction of femtosecond lasers in the early 1990s, ultrafast laser processing has become crucial for micro/nano machining, with Two-photon lithography (TPL) being a unique technique that has revolutionized laser material processing. This paper provides an overview of TPL, including its working principle, experimental setup, and materials, as well as techniques to improve resolution and pave the way for industrialization. The paper also thoroughly reviews TPL for microfabrication, with an emphasis on metamaterials.

Rapid, continuous projection multi-photon 3D printing enabled by spatiotemporal focusing of femtosecond pulses

Paul Somers et al.

Summary: This work combines high-speed projection multiphoton printing with spatiotemporal focusing to achieve rapid, layer-by-layer fabrication of 3D structures. A numerical model for computing spatiotemporal focusing and imaging is presented and verified. Complex 3D structures with smooth features are fabricated, showcasing the potential to manufacture 3D structures with micro/nanoscale features in a practical time scale.
