Simplified diffusion model of gas hydrate formation from ice

Valeriy A. Vlasov

Summary: A kinetic model of gas hydrate formation from ice is presented, showing that the rate of methane hydrate formation from ice is influenced by temperature and methane pressure. It was also found that the gas hydrate formed from ice does not have a porous structure.

Kinetics of Propane Hydrate Formation from Melting Ice in Frozen Aqueous Poly(vinyl alcohol) Solutions

L. S. Podenko et al.

Summary: The kinetics of propane hydrates formation in frozen aqueous solutions, especially in poly(vinyl alcohol) solutions, show a much higher rate of water transfer compared to common ice. Study also found that microcrystals of propane hydrates formed in poly(vinyl alcohol) solutions during ice melting are smaller in size compared to those formed in frozen water under the same conditions.
