Selective thermotherapy of tumor by self-regulating photothermal conversion system

Summary: A self-regulating photothermal conversion system based on self-assembling gold nanoparticles was designed for selective thermotherapy. The system demonstrated selective heating effect in both in vitro and in vivo models, achieving good tumor inhibition without damaging normal tissue. This work offers a novel validation protocol for tumor thermotherapy and provides an evaluation methodology for precise cancer therapy.

In vivo studies demonstrate improved drug accumulation, penetration, and retention in tumors, leading to significant suppression of tumor growth and improved survival rates in breast cancer-bearing mice. These nanoparticles have the potential to serve as an effective nanoscale vector for enhanced cancer therapy.
