Nanoporous naphthalene diimide surface enhances humidity and ammonia sensing at room temperature

Salman Ali et al.

Summary: In this study, humidity and ammonia sensors based on nanoporous naphthalene diimide (NDI) thin layer were fabricated and characterised. The sensors exhibited high sensitivity, quick response and recovery time, low hysteresis, long-term stability, and a wide working range for humidity sensing. Additionally, the sensors showed excellent performance in monitoring skin humidity and respiration rate. For ammonia detection, the sensors demonstrated high selectivity and good sensitivity.

Assessing the Performance of DFT Functionals for Excited-State Properties of Pyridine-Thiophene Oligomers

Bishwanath Mahato et al.

Summary: The accuracy of various density functional theory (DFT) functionals in reproducing absorption and CD spectra of pyridine-thiophene oligomers is examined in this article. Different levels of approximations in DFT functionals are discussed in reference to the ADC(2) results. Functional like CAM-B3LYP, omega B97XD, and M06-2X produce results closer to the ADC(2) results for vertical excitation energies.

Plasma Hsp90 levels in patients with systemic sclerosis and relation to lung and skin involvement: a cross-sectional and longitudinal study

Hana Storkanova et al.

Summary: According to the study, plasma levels of Hsp90 are increased in patients with systemic sclerosis compared to healthy controls, and are associated with increased inflammatory activity, worsened lung function, and extent of skin involvement in patients with diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis. In patients with systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease treated with cyclophosphamide, baseline Hsp90 levels can predict changes in DLCO over 12 months of therapy.

Recent Advances in Perylene Diimide-Based Active Materials in Electrical Mode Gas Sensing

Salman Ali et al.

Summary: PDI-based sensors show high sensitivity towards various analytes, particularly reducing gases like ammonia and hydrazine. However, there are issues that need to be addressed, including selectivity towards a specific gas, the effect of relative humidity, and operating temperature. This review focuses on the strategies and design principles applied to the gas-sensing performance of PDI-based devices.

Capacitive humidity sensing performance of naphthalene diimide derivatives at ambient temperature

Salman Ali et al.

Summary: A capacitive type humidity sensor using NDI as the sensing layer was developed, showing high sensitivity, good stability, excellent reproducibility, and low hysteresis. The sensor also exhibited good response and optimized performance at different operating frequencies. These results suggest that NDI-based sensors have better sensing performance compared to other types of capacitive humidity sensors.
