Stretchable and Transparent Metal Nanowire Microelectrodes for Simultaneous Electrophysiology and Optogenetics Applications

Jinbi Tian et al.

Summary: The newly developed optically transparent microelectrode technology offers a promising approach for high-resolution electrical and optical biointerfacing with tissues in vivo and in vitro. Silver nanowire stretchable transparent microelectrodes and interconnects, fabricated through a simple selective-patterning process, exhibit excellent electrical and electrochemical performance, high optical transparency, superior mechanical robustness, and durability. Microelectrode arrays fabricated with this approach demonstrate uniform electrochemical performance across all channels, and experiments on mice show that both pristine and stretched Ag NW microelectrodes can achieve high-fidelity electrophysiological monitoring of cardiac activity.

Improving light absorption of active layer by adjusting PEDOT:PSS film for high efficiency Si-based hybrid solar cells

Zhongliang Gao et al.

Summary: The management of reflectivity and parasitic absorption by adjusting the thickness of PEDOT:PSS film can improve light absorption of the active layer, thereby enhancing the performance of solar cells. Additionally, increasing the PEDOT:PSS film thickness can gradually weaken the quasi-Fermi level bending, stabilize hole concentration, and improve carrier separation efficiency to reduce carrier recombination. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) can reach 12.35% through applying the optimized rule obtained from simulation to the experiment, a 30% improvement compared to unoptimized PEDOT:PSS/Si hybrid solar cells.
