Continuous CO2 capture performance of K2CO3/Al2O3 sorbents in a novel two-stage integrated bubbling-transport fluidized reactor

Jiliang Ma et al.

Summary: A novel two-stage integrated bubbling-transport bed reactor was proposed for post-combustion CO2 capture using K2CO3/Al2O3 sorbents. The optimal adsorption temperature range was found to be between 60 degrees C and 100 degrees C, with wider range than traditional reactors. CO2 capture efficiency increased with sorbent circulation rate and desorption temperature, while better performance was observed with air desorption gas. Water vapor step-feeding enhanced maximum CO2 capture efficiency from 87% to 96% and showed strong anti-interference ability.

Bifunctional Ni-Ca based material for integrated CO2 capture and conversion via calcium-looping dry reforming

Jiawei Hu et al.

Summary: The research focuses on the development of a bifunctional Ni-Ca based material to enable isothermal capture and release of CO2, as well as in-situ conversion of CH4 into syngas in a single reactor. The addition of CeO2 helps combat inactive carbon accumulation and activate CO2 and CH4, leading to enhanced syngas production during cyclic CaLDRM. The bifunctional material successfully converts over 40% of CH4 and CO2 under thermodynamically unfavorable conditions.

LaNixFe1-xO3-δ as a Robust Redox Catalyst for CO2 Splitting and Methane Partial Oxidation

Sherafghan Iftikhar et al.

Summary: LaNi0.5Fe0.5O3-δ exhibits excellent redox performance, showing high catalytic efficiency for CO2 splitting and methane partial oxidation. The gradual loss of activity can be addressed by deep oxidation with air, while periodic reactivation of the redox catalyst has been proven to effectively prolong its lifespan.
