May the four be with you: novel IR-subtraction methods to tackle NNLO calculations

W. J. Torres Bobadilla et al.

Summary: This manuscript reports the results of a topical workshop on alternative NNLO strategies in high-energy physics, discussing different frameworks for precise higher-order computations and strategies for dealing with infrared and ultraviolet singularities in quantum field theories. Special emphasis is placed on the local cancellation of these singularities to enhance efficiency and discover novel mathematical properties in quantum field theories.

Renormalization of the flavor-singlet axial-vector current and its anomaly in dimensional regularization

Taushif Ahmed et al.

Summary: In QCD with massless quarks, the renormalization constant ZJ of the flavor-singlet axial-vector current with a non-anticommuting 5 in dimensional regularization is determined to order ff3 s. By computing the matrix elements of the operators in the axial-anomaly equation, the equality between the MS renormalization constant Z F F associated with the operator F F R and that of ff s is verified at 4-loop order. This verified equality ensures a relation between the respective anomalous dimensions, J = ff s 4 nf T F FJ, given the validity of the axial-anomaly equation for determining the non-MS piece of ZJ.

Summary: The study computes the two-loop beta-functions of various quantum field theories using the background field method and implicit regularization, and compares them thoroughly with dimensional approaches, discussing related subtleties and confirming the hypothesis of momentum routing invariance within the context of the research.
