The light-ray OPE and conformal colliders

Murat Kologlu et al.

Summary: The study introduces a nonperturbative, convergent operator product expansion (OPE) for dealing with null-integrated operators on the same null plane in a conformal field theory. The objects in the expansion are light-ray operators, which can be computed using the generalized Lorentzian inversion formula. An application of this is in collider event shapes, where the light-ray OPE provides a nonperturbative expansion for event shapes in celestial blocks.

Crossing Symmetric Dispersion Relations in Quantum Field Theories

Aninda Sinha et al.

Summary: This letter discusses a crossing symmetric dispersion relation for 2-2 scattering in quantum field theories, highlighting a geometric rotation in the complex z plane. The resulting three-channel crossing symmetric dispersion is obtained, along with derivations of known positivity conditions and new nonperturbative inequalities. The approach is used to locate the first massive string state and derive a generalized Froissart bound valid for all energies.

Bounds on Regge growth of flat space scattering from bounds on chaos

Deeksha Chandorkar et al.

Summary: The study focuses on four-point functions in a conformal field theory and demonstrates the influence of S matrix growth on the Regge scaling of correlators in causal scattering configurations. It shows that the Regge scaling on the causally scattering sheet is governed by the same power as in the standard Regge configuration, constrained by the chaos bound.

Conformal Regge theory at finite boost

Simon Caron-Huot et al.

Summary: The note extends Conformal Regge theory to provide an exact OPE representation of Lorenzian four-point correlators in conformal field theory, even away from the Regge limit. This representation extends convergence of the OPE by rewriting it as a double integral over continuous spins and dimensions, and features a novel Regge block. The formula is tested in the conformal fishnet theory, where exact results involving nontrivial Regge trajectories are available.

Dispersion formulas in QFTs, CFTs and holography

David Meltzer

Summary: The study explores momentum space dispersion formulas in general quantum field theories and their applications in conformal field theory correlation functions. By utilizing two independent methods, it is demonstrated that quantum field theory dispersion formulas can be represented using causal commutators, with key components at four points being the same causal double-commutators. The research further shows the equivalence between momentum space dispersion formulas and CFT dispersion formulas for four-point functions, along with the relationship between Polyakov-Regge expansions associated with them through a Fourier transform.

Crossing Symmetric Dispersion Relations for Mellin Amplitudes

Rajesh Gopakumar et al.

Summary: The study establishes a firm foundation for conformal field theories by utilizing manifestly crossing symmetric dispersion relations, resolving contact term ambiguities. The new approach employs locality constraints to replace the requirement of crossing symmetry in the usual fixed-t dispersion relation, showing that the sum rules based on two channel dispersion relations and the present dispersion relations are identical.

Positivity in Multifield Effective Field Theories

Xu Li et al.

Summary: In this paper, we discuss a general method for obtaining full positivity bounds on multifield effective field theories, showing that the traditional approach only gives incomplete bounds for theories with three or more low-energy modes. We introduce a new method to determine optimal positivity bounds either analytically or numerically, and demonstrate its effectiveness with various examples in particle physics and cosmology. This SDP approach leads to improved or entirely new results, and is numerically more efficient compared to previous methods.

Summary: New crossing-symmetric dispersion formulae have been derived for CFT correlators restricted to the line. Summary: This article revisits the problem of bounding higher derivative couplings in consistent weakly coupled gravitational theories, using dispersive sum rules to limit the order one coefficients and overcoming the difficulties caused by the graviton pole. The approach justifies the expectation that higher derivative couplings are expected to be of order one in the units of the UV cutoff.

Summary: An analytic approach to the four-point crossing equation in CFT is developed for general spacetime dimension. Crossing symmetry in the planar limit

Summary: This work examines a possible physical interpretation of crossing symmetry in quantum field theory, showing how smooth interpolation between pairs of crossing channels can be achieved through deformations of external momenta in perturbation theory. By prescribing a five-step sequence of moves, the study demonstrates crossing symmetry for planar scattering amplitudes, paving the way towards settling this question for more general scattering processes in quantum field theories.

The EFT-hedron

Nima Arkani-Hamed et al.

Summary: The study reexamines the constraints imposed by causality and unitarity on the low-energy effective field theory expansion of four-particle scattering amplitudes, revealing a hidden totally positive structure similar to the positive geometries associated with grassmannians and amplituhedra, termed the EFT-hedron. By investigating the boundary structure of the EFT-hedron systematically, it provides linear and non-linear inequalities that must be satisfied by the EFT expansion in any theory. The EFT-hedron geometry and constraints are illustrated with various examples, including new consistency conditions on the scattering amplitudes of photons and gravitons in the real world.
