Interrelations of nutrient and water transporters in plants under abiotic stress

Gloria Barzana et al.

Summary: Plants undergo abiotic stress due to environmental changes, affecting their uptake of nutrients and water essential for metabolism, growth, and cellular homeostasis. The response of the plant genome to nutrient deficiency, drought, salinity, and low temperature involves changes in the expression of nutrient transporters and aquaporins. Tolerant plants generally increase the expression of nutrient transporters and aquaporins in response to drought, salinity, and low temperature stresses.
