Pure-Blue Fluorescence Molecule for Nondoped Electroluminescence with External Quantum Efficiency Approaching 13%

Xianhao Lv et al.

Summary: A novel hot-exciton material tBuP-CAPICN was reported for the application of pure-blue fluorescent OLEDs, exhibiting excellent electroluminescence performance with an emission peak at 452 nm and a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of only 53 nm. The OLED also achieved a maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 12.7% and exciton utilization efficiency (EUE) of 80%, ranking it among the best performers in nondoped pure-blue OLEDs. The results suggest the potential of tBuP-CAPICN in pure-blue OLEDs and offer a valuable approach for designing high-efficiency pure-blue materials.

Multi-Layer π-Stacked Molecules as Efficient Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Emitters

Xue-Qi Wang et al.

Summary: Multi-layer pi-stacked emitters based on spatially confined D/A/D patterns have been developed to achieve high-efficiency TADF. Dual donor moieties and a single acceptor moiety are introduced to form 3D emitters, resulting in high PLQYs, small Delta E-ST, and fast RISC processes. Devices based on these emitters exhibit maximum EQEs higher than their D/A-type analogues.

Face-to-Face Orientation of Quasiplanar Donor and Acceptor Enables Highly Efficient Intramolecular Exciplex Fluorescence

Chao Wu et al.

Summary: Intramolecular through-space charge-transfer (TSCT) excited states are utilized for developing thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitters, with a series of precisely controlled TSCT emitters designed through alignment optimization of donor and acceptor segments. By increasing intramolecular pi-pi interactions, radiative decay rate of the lowest singlet excited state (S-1) is progressively enhanced with suppression of nonradiative decay, leading to significantly improved photoluminescence quantum yields of up to 0.99 in doped thin films. A high-efficiency electroluminescence device achieves a maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 23.96% and maintains >20% at a brightness of 1000 cd m(-2), highlighting the importance of conformation control for high-efficiency intramolecular exciplex emitters.

Peripheral Decoration of Multi-Resonance Molecules as a Versatile Approach for Simultaneous Long-Wavelength and Narrowband Emission

Yanyu Qi et al.

Summary: A new approach of peripherally decorating MR emitter with electron donors enables the emission spectra of MR emitters to red-shift while retaining narrowband emission, leading to the realization of the first narrowband yellow emitter with emission maxima of 562 nm and excellent color purity. Highly efficient OLEDs with an external quantum efficiency of over 24% are fabricated by employing these newly developed MR molecules as emitters.
