A Dye Tracer Approach for Quantifying Fluid and Solute Flux Across the Sediment-Water Interface

Ryan N. Cascarano et al.

Summary: The proposed dye tracer method allows for characterization of fluid and solute fluxes across the sediment-water interface. By releasing fluorescein dye at known subsurface depths, breakthrough locations and times can be visually identified and groundwater velocities and dispersivities can be estimated numerically. This approach provides a framework for studying nonconservative, reactive solutes and determining characteristic residence times at various depths in the streambed.

Review of Modeling Approaches to Groundwater Flow in Deformed Carbonate Aquifers

Giacomo Medici et al.

Summary: The paper discusses three existing modeling approaches to represent groundwater flow in carbonate aquifers: equivalent porous medium, conduit network, and discrete fracture network. Each method is suitable for different characteristics and challenges found in the complex hydrogeological settings of carbonate rocks.

Study on the stability of colored fluorescent tracers in highly sulfated reservoir waters

Katarzyna Wojtowicz

Summary: The article focuses on the determination of colored fluorescent tracers in reservoir waters using spectrophotometric method, highlighting the sensitivity of fluorescein, rhodamine B, and uranine to changes in buffer pH. It recommends the use of stable tracer solutions and pH control during testing. The study also validates the analytical methods by plotting calibration curves and evaluating the linearity, standard deviation, and relative standard deviation of the tested tracers.
