Removal of disinfection by-product precursors in drinking water treatment processes: Is fluorescence parallel factor analysis a promising indicator?

Yan Wang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the removal efficiency of disinfection by-product (DBP) precursors by different drinking water treatment processes, with coagulation-sedimentation process showing the best performance. Advanced treatment processes were less effective in comparison. The removal of fluorescence components could serve as an indicator for the removal of DBP precursors.
