Evaluation of Cerebral Blood Flow Measured by 3D PCASL as Biomarker of Vascular Cognitive Impairment and Dementia (VCID) in a Cohort of Elderly Latinx Subjects at Risk of Small Vessel Disease

Kay Jann et al.

Summary: This study evaluated cerebral blood flow (CBF) as a potential biomarker of vascular cognitive impairment and dementia (VCID) in elderly Latinx subjects at risk of cerebral small vessel disease (cSVD). Good test-retest repeatability of CBF measurements was achieved, with relative CBF in specific brain regions showing correlations with cognitive function and white matter hyperintensity volumes. Further research in larger cohorts is needed to confirm these findings.

Age-related normative changes in cerebral perfusion: Data from The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA)

Caoilfhionn Ni Leidhin et al.

Summary: This study established normative reference values for total grey matter cerebral blood flow measured using pCASL-MRI in a large cohort of community-dwelling adults aged 54 years and older. Age and sex-related differences were found in CBFGM, with CBFGM decreasing with age and being higher in females compared to males.
