Effect of 2-implant mandibular overdenture with different attachments and loading protocols on peri-implant health and prosthetic complications: A systematic review and network meta-analysis

Taghrid Aldhohrah et al.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of different overdenture attachments with delayed or immediately loaded 2-implant retained mandibular overdentures on peri-implant tissue health. The results showed that all types of overdenture attachments, regardless of loading protocol, had a similar effect on peri-implant health.

Do ball-type attachment systems for overdenture result in better patient-satisfaction? A systematic review of randomized crossover clinical trial

Cleber Davi Del Rei Daltro Rosa et al.

Summary: This study compared patient-satisfaction with ball-type overdenture attachment systems with others attachment systems. The results showed that there was no significant difference between the two in terms of patient satisfaction, but the ball-type system was statistically superior only to the magnet system.

Ball versus Locator(R) Attachments: A Retrospective Study on Prosthetic Maintenance and Effect on Oral-Health-Related Quality of Life

Silvia Brandt et al.

Summary: The study aimed to compare Locator(R) and ball attachments for implant-retained overdentures in terms of prosthetic maintenance and patients' oral-health-related quality of life. Results showed that patients using the Locator(R) system required less maintenance measures and had better OHRQoL compared to those using ball attachments.

Mini-Implant-Retained Overdentures for the Rehabilitation of Completely Edentulous Maxillae: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Serena Vi et al.

Summary: The systematic review evaluated the treatment outcomes of using mini-dental implants to retain maxillary overdentures in patients with complete edentulism. The findings indicated that the survival rate of mini-implants was lower than traditional implants, but improvements were observed in patient satisfaction, quality of life, and oromyofunction after treatment.
