Enhanced thermal conductivity and isotropy of polymer composites by fabricating3Dnetwork structure from carbon-based materials

Qi Li et al.

Summary: The graphene-based composite with a 3D thermally conductive network, consisting of graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs), carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and carbon spheres (CSs), showed enhanced thermal conductivity. The GNPs acted as thermally conductive backbones, while CNTs and CSs helped to reduce aggregation and thermal anisotropy. This 3D nanofiller composite has great potential for heat dissipation applications requiring heat removal in two directions.

Green preparation and enhanced gas barrier property of rubber nanocomposite film based on graphene oxide-induced chemical crosslinking

Linyan Wang et al.

Summary: A green and facile preparation method for graphene oxide/nitrile butadiene rubber (GO/NBR) nanocomposite film was developed, where chemical crosslinks were induced by graphene oxide without the need for vulcanization ingredients. Increasing the concentration and temperature of graphene oxide led to enhanced crosslinking reactions, improving the tensile strength and gas barrier properties of the nanocomposite. Strong interfacial interactions between graphene oxide and NBR were crucial for the overall performance of the nanocomposite materials.

Cryogenic mechanical properties of graphene oxide/epoxy nanocomposites: Influence of graphene oxide with different oxidation degrees

Jie Fan et al.

Summary: The study showed that as the oxidation degree of graphene oxide increased, it exhibited better dispersion in the matrix and improved interfacial interactions with epoxy resin, leading to enhanced mechanical properties of the nanocomposites. The tensile properties of the GO/epoxy nanocomposites at room temperature and liquid nitrogen temperature increased with the GO oxidation degree, reaching the highest performance at an appropriate oxidation degree. The toughening mechanisms of GO for epoxy nanocomposites at room temperature and liquid nitrogen temperature were analyzed and showed significant differences.
