Effect of Additional Light Curing on Colour Stability of Composite Resins

Kubra Alan Unsal et al.

Summary: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of additional light curing on the colour stability of composite resins. The results showed that the composition of the resin, polishing protocol, and additional light curing had significant effects on colour stability, while the type of light source did not make a significant difference. Additional light curing reduced discolouration and could help maintain aesthetics and increase the resistance of composite resins to discolouration.

Degree of conversion and in vitro temperature rise of pulp chamber during polymerization of flowable and sculptable conventional, bulk-fill and short-fibre reinforced resin composites

Edina Lempel et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the pulpal temperature rise and degree of conversion of various resin-based composites during photo-polymerization. Results showed that temperature and conversion are mainly dependent on material composition and thickness, with short-fiber reinforced composites exhibiting higher temperature changes and conversion percentages.

Effect of Polymerization Time on Residual Monomer Release in Dental Composite: In Vitro Study

Ezgi Sonkaya et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the amount of residual monomer released from nanofiller composite resins for different polymerization times and storage periods. Results showed variations in monomer release among different composite materials, with Bis-GMA having the highest release, and a peak in monomer release observed on the 15th day followed by a decrease. Polymerization time did not significantly affect monomer release, but the type of monomers and filler concentration in the composites did.
