ENZYMATIC HYDROLYSIS OF FAST-GROWING POPLAR WOOD AFTER PRETREATMENT BY STEAM EXPLOSION

Anna Galazka et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of steam explosion pretreatment on the yield of enzymatic hydrolysis of wood biomass, using genetically modified poplar wood. Results showed higher enzymatic efficiency at 190 and 205 degrees C. Economically, using steam heating medium and natural gas or biomass as an energy source is advantageous.
