Holiday Club Programmes in Northern Ireland: The Voices of Children and Young People

Jackie Shinwell et al.

Summary: The study found that children in Northern Ireland have a high awareness of poverty and food insecurity, but do not feel stigmatized when attending holiday provision. They enjoy the activities at holiday clubs and attending boosts their self-confidence. Older children act as mentors and help younger attendees develop new skills, fostering a positive and inclusive culture towards holiday club attendance.
