Summary: This study aimed to explore determinants that contributed to United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) cadets' disclosure of a concussion. The findings showed that many cadets were able to accurately describe concussion symptoms, but there was also an understanding of the differences between a concussion and a bell ringer or ding. It is recommended to decrease the use of colloquial terms for concussion and focus on describing symptoms using the cadets' own words.
