The co-presence of high-risk human papillomaviruses and Epstein-Barr virus is linked with tumor grade and stage in Qatari women with breast cancer

Ishita Gupta et al.

Summary: The co-prevalence of high-risk HPV and EBV in breast cancer tissues from Qatari women suggests their association with tumor aggressiveness. This highlights the importance of further investigations to understand the underlying mechanisms of HPV and EBV cooperation in breast carcinogenesis.

High-risk human papillomaviruses and Epstein-Barr virus in breast cancer in Lebanese women and their association with tumor grade: a molecular and tissue microarray study

Karim Nagi et al.

Summary: The study revealed the presence of high-risk HPVs and EBV in Lebanese women's breast cancer, with HPV detected in 65% of the samples and EBV in 40%. Furthermore, high-risk HPV types 52, 35, 58, 45, 16, and 51 were found to be most frequent in breast cancer in this population. Co-presence of high-risk HPVs and EBV was associated with tumor grade in 29% of the samples.

Prevalence and characteristics of mouse mammary tumor virus-like virus associated breast cancer in China

Fa-Liang Wang et al.

Summary: The prevalence of MMTV-LV in breast cancer tissues was significantly higher than in breast fibroadenoma specimens, and significantly different between Southern and Northern China in Chinese women. MMTV-LV prevalence was also associated with HER2 expression, but not with other parameters. In a meta-analysis, the prevalence of MMTV-LV in breast cancer tissue was dependent on the distribution of different mouse species worldwide.
