Risk of Guillain-Barre Syndrome Following Recombinant Zoster Vaccine in Medicare Beneficiaries

Ravi Goud et al.

Summary: This case series cohort study evaluated the risk of Guillain-Barre syndrome after administration of recombinant zoster vaccine (RZV) among Medicare beneficiaries, finding a slightly increased risk within 42 days post-vaccination with approximately 3 excess cases per million RZV doses. Healthcare providers and patients should be aware of this risk while considering the benefits of herpes zoster vaccination.
