Research showed negative relationships between anhedonia expression and putamen volume across different psychiatric diagnoses, as well as negative associations between anhedonia severity and volume of the bilateral cerebellum. These findings suggest volumetric abnormalities in the putamen and cerebellum as a common neural substrate for the severity of anhedonia across psychiatric entities.
