Signaling pathways of EBV-induced oncogenesis

Yin Luo et al.

Summary: Epstein-Barr virus is closely associated with multiple human cancers, mainly lymphomas and carcinomas. The virus can induce oncogenesis through activating various signaling pathways in host cells.

The frequency of high-risk human papillomavirus types, HPV16 lineages, and their relationship with p16INK4a and NF-κB expression in head and neck squamous cell carcinomas in Southwestern Iran

Fatemeh Pakdel et al.

Summary: The study found that in Iranian HNSCC patients, HPV16, especially the A2 sublineage, is the main pathogen associated with HNSCC. There was a significant association between HPV status and the expression of P16INK4a and NF-kappa B, suggesting that prophylactic vaccines developed for cervical cancer prevention may also be applicable for preventing HPV-related HNSCCs.
