Clusterin regulates macrophage expansion, polarization and phagocytic activity in response to inflammation in the kidneys

Xiaodong Weng et al.

Summary: In this study, it was found that Clusterin (CLU) suppresses macrophage infiltration and proinflammatory M1 polarization during the recovery period following ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) in the kidneys of WT mice. Additionally, CLU enhances phagocytic activity, which may partly contribute to tissue repair in the injured kidneys.
