Severe trauma patient volume was associated with decreased mortality

Makoto Aoki et al.

Summary: The study found that high volume hospitals were associated with reduced in-hospital mortality among severe trauma patients, while medium volume hospitals did not show this correlation. In high volume hospitals, patients had shortened door-to-definitive treatment time, and the reduction in in-hospital mortality was only seen in patients with a probability of survival >=0.5.
