Analysis of Parafoveal Microvascular Abnormalities in Behcet's Uveitis Using Projection-Resolved Optical Coherence Tomographic Angiography

Minghang Pei et al.

Summary: Behcet's uveitis (BDU) patients exhibit significant changes in retinal vascular imaging, with potential risk factors for visual impairment. During unilateral BDU attacks, the degree of capillary reduction in the fellow eye correlates with the severity of the ocular disease.

Quantitative measurements with optical coherence tomography angiography in Behcet uveitis

Hilal Eser-Ozturk et al.

Summary: This study found that patients with Behcet uveitis had lower capillary vessel density and larger foveal avascular zone area compared to the control group. In patients with macular atrophy, qualitative evaluation of optical coherence tomography angiography findings may be more valuable.

Preclinical ocular features in patients with Behcet's disease detected by optical coherence tomography angiography

Aylin Karalezli et al.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate microvascular changes in the perifoveal and peripapillary areas of Behcet's disease patients without clinically ocular involvement using OCTA. It was found that vessel densities were significantly lower in the BD group, with higher FAZ and more morphological changes in the perifoveal area. Disease duration showed a mild negative correlation with vessel densities in DCP, total disc, and peripapillary regions.

Optical coherence tomography angiography findings in patients with ocular and non-ocular Behcet disease

Pinar Topcu Yilmaz et al.

Summary: The study evaluated optical coherence tomography angiography findings in patients with Behcet disease with and without ocular involvement. It found that Behcet disease with posterior uveitis was associated with significant vascular decrements in the superficial and deep retina, showing moderate correlation with visual acuity.

Parafoveal Microvascular Alterations in Ocular and Non-Ocular Behcet's Disease Evaluated With Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography

Lisette M. Smid et al.

Summary: The parafoveal microvasculature is affected not only in Behcet uveitis (BU) patients but also in non-ocular Behcet's disease (NOBD) patients. The vessel density (VD) was found to be lowest in the BU group and highest in the healthy volunteers (HV) group in all layers. The foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area was also significantly different among the groups, with the largest FAZ areas in BU patients and smallest FAZ areas in the HV group.
