Correlation Between Relative Nasopharyngeal Virus RNA Load and Lymphocyte Count Disease Severity in Patients with COVID-19

Yang Liu et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the correlation between nasopharyngeal viral load and lymphocyte count disease severity in patients with COVID-19 caused by the new coronavirus. Significant differences were found in various indicators between the mild group and the severe group. The results suggest that higher SARS-CoV-2 RNA load is associated with lower lymphocyte count, increased organ damage, and prolonged time for nucleic acid test to turn negative.

Modelling Analysis of COVID-19 Transmission and the State of Emergency in Japan

Zhongxiang Chen et al.

Summary: The SEIAQR model was used to assess the effectiveness of containment strategies in Japan during the COVID-19 pandemic. The simulation results demonstrated that the spread of the virus could be inhibited by containment actions during the state of emergency, with recommendations for increased PCR testing intensity and a higher proportion of COCOA app users to control the spread further.
