PM2.5 organic extract mediates inflammation through the ERβ pathway to contribute to lung carcinogenesis in vitro and vivo

Fei Luo et al.

Summary: This study found that ER beta plays an important role in inflammation and lung cancer promoted by PM2.5 organic extract (Po). In vitro experiments showed that inhibition of ER beta can reduce IL-6 expression and promote malignant transformation of cells. Animal model experiments demonstrated that Po can induce lung inflammation and injury, and inhibition of ER beta can improve these conditions.

Influence of Genistein on Hepatic Lipid Metabolism in an In Vitro Model of Hepatic Steatosis

Lena Seidemann et al.

Summary: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a leading cause of end-stage liver disease, with unsatisfactory pharmacological treatment options available. Genistein, a soy isoflavone, shows beneficial effects on lipid metabolism and may be a candidate for NAFLD treatment. In an in vitro model, genistein treatment affects PPAR alpha and SREBP-1c signaling pathways, playing a significant role in hepatic lipid metabolism.
