The Effect of Surface Treatment on Structural Properties of CVD Diamond Layers with Different Grain Sizes Studied by Raman Spectroscopy

Anna Dychalska et al.

Summary: The study investigates the structural and chemical changes in diamond layers after post-growth treatment with hydrogen through Raman spectroscopy, SEM, and XPS measurements, focusing on the micro-structural properties of diamond layers with varying grain sizes and sp(2) carbon content. The impact of hydrogenation on the surface structure and chemical composition of diamond layers is examined, taking into account the polycrystalline nature and variations within CVD diamond layers. The study involves Raman spectroscopy analysis before and after hydrogen treatment near T-shape markers on the surface of each studied diamond layer to compare results.

Single-Crystal Diamond Needle Fabrication Using Hot-Filament Chemical Vapor Deposition

Rinat Ismagilov et al.

Summary: This study compared single-crystal diamond pyramids produced using hot-filament chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and thermal oxidation processes with those produced using plasma-enhanced (PE) CVD. The similarities in morphology, Raman, and photoluminescent characteristics were discussed in connection with the diamond film growth mechanism. The experimental results demonstrated the potential for mass production of single-crystal needle-like diamonds using the HF CVD method, highlighting their practical application.
