Pulpal response to mineral trioxide aggregate containing phosphorylated pullulan-based capping material

Yu Toida et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the pulpal responses of monkey's pulp after direct pulp capping (DPC) with mineral trioxide aggregate containing phosphorylated pullulan-based material (MTAPPL). The results suggest that MTAPPL could be an efficient DPC material.

Histological evaluation of the regenerative potential of a novel treated dentin matrix hydrogel in direct pulp capping

Ahmed A. Holiel et al.

Summary: In this clinical study, it was found that using TDMH, Biodentine, and MTA for direct pulp capping showed good dentin regeneration ability with no inflammatory response. However, the dentin formed in the TDMH group was significantly thicker with well-arranged odontoblasts, indicating a positive trend towards dentin regeneration.

Tomographic evaluation of direct pulp capping using a novel injectable treated dentin matrix hydrogel: a 2-year randomized controlled clinical trial

Summary: The study assessed the success of pulp capping using TDMH, Biodentine, and MTA in traumatized permanent posterior teeth. The TDMH group showed superior dentin bridges in terms of radiodensity and thickness compared to Biodentine and MTA. CBCT imaging was confirmed as a non-invasive approach to evaluate dentin bridges after pulp capping.

Different types of bioceramics as dental pulp capping materials: A systematic review

Sotoudeh Davaie et al.

Summary: This study systematically reviewed the use of different types of bioceramics as direct dental pulp capping materials for dentin regeneration in permanent teeth. It found that calcium silicate-based materials, MTA, and Biodentine are currently the most effective bioceramics for this purpose, with calcium phosphates showing potential as future alternatives. Further well-designed in vitro and clinical studies are needed to confirm the most appropriate bioceramics for direct dental pulp capping procedures.

The Effect of Calcium-Silicate Cements on Reparative Dentinogenesis Following Direct Pulp Capping on Animal Models

Mihai Andrei et al.

Summary: The vitality of dental pulp is essential for maintaining the health and functionality of the tooth. Hydraulic calcium-silicate cements can stimulate reparative dentinogenesis in direct pulp capping procedures, leading to the formation of new dentin bridges. Different degrees of pulp inflammatory response and dentin bridge formation were observed during pulp healing, showing positive effects on tertiary dentin formation and pulp vitality preservation.
