Effect of using recycled waste glass coarse aggregates on the hydrodynamic abrasion resistance of concrete

Nicholas Omoding et al.

Summary: This experimental study evaluates the hydrodynamic abrasion resistance of concrete produced with recycled waste glass as coarse aggregates. The results show that the use of recycled waste glass up to 25% replacement rate does not significantly affect the abrasion resistance of concrete. Concrete produced with 100% recycled waste glass coarse aggregates had comparable abrasion resistance with that produced with 100% crushed limestone coarse aggregates.

Utilization of glass cullet to enhance the performance of recycled aggregate unbound sub-base

Zhen Chen et al.

Summary: Recycled glass cullet can be used as fine aggregates in unbound sub-base, improving the bearing capacity of the material. Mixes of cullet and coarse demolition aggregates from different sources can achieve bearing capacities comparable with that of natural aggregates sub-base, meeting construction specifications.

Recycling of waste glass in cement mortars: Mechanical properties under high temperature loading

Shuqing Yang et al.

Summary: The study found that recycling waste glass into cement mortar can improve its high temperature compressive strength, but excessive use of glass materials can soften the mortar, requiring careful control of the dosage.

Analysis of Porous Structure in Autoclaved Materials Modified by Glass Sand

Anna Stepien

Summary: This paper discusses the use of glass sand in the production of autoclaved bricks. The study aims to analyze the feasibility of using glass sand in autoclaved materials and assess their properties. The porosity of materials plays a crucial role in determining their strength, density, and thermal/acoustic insulation properties.
