In vitro wear of (resin-coated) high-viscosity glass ionomer cements and glass hybrid restorative systems

Andrej M. Kielbassa et al.

Summary: The study found no significant differences in wear rates between high-viscosity glass ionomer cement and glass hybrid restorative system, regardless of resinous coating. Both materials showed significantly higher abrasive wear compared to conventional glass ionomer cement, but fell short of the abrasion resistance values of hybrid composite resin.

Low-temperature flow-synthesis-assisted urethane-grafted zinc oxide-based dental composites: physical, mechanical, and antibacterial responses

Jaffar Hussain Bukhari et al.

Summary: A novel method was used to graft ZnO with UDMA to produce dental composites with enhanced antibacterial properties. The grafted ZnO increased the antibacterial potential of the composites without compromising their strength, and both commercial and experimental composites showed acceptable wear resistance within clinical limits.
