Neural networks and standard cosmography with newly calibrated high redshift GRB observations

Celia Escamilla-Rivera et al.

Summary: This study proposes a new method to calibrate gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) as cosmological distance indicators using a machine learning architecture with data from Type Ia Supernovae (SNeIa) observations. By combining a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) and a Bayesian Neural Network (BNN), the network's efficacy is extended by computing covariance matrices. This method can be used to implement a cosmographic reconstruction of the distance-redshift relation in different redshift regimes.

A Comprehensive Measurement of the Local Value of the Hubble Constant with 1 km s-1 Mpc-1 Uncertainty from the Hubble Space Telescope and the SH0ES Team

Adam G. Riess et al.

Summary: This study reports observations of Cepheid variables in the host galaxies of 42 Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) using the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) to calibrate the Hubble constant (H (0)). The observations were collected over four decades and significantly improved the precision of the direct determination of H (0). The study presented multiple verifications of Cepheid photometry and explored different analysis variants to assess the sensitivity of H (0) determination. The baseline result for H (0) was found to be 73.04 +/- 1.04 km s(-1) Mpc(-1).

The Pantheon plus Analysis: SuperCal-fragilistic Cross Calibration, Retrained SALT2 Light-curve Model, and Calibration Systematic Uncertainty

Dillon Brout et al.

Summary: This study presents a recalibration of the photometric systems for Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia), utilizing a cross calibration method with the Pan-STARRS stellar photometry catalog and individual SN Ia surveys. The new calibration includes an expanded number of photometric systems and filters, as well as accounting for the change in the fundamental flux calibration of Hubble Space Telescope CALSPEC standards. The recalibrated light curves and model result in a slight change in the distance modulus for a given redshift range, and the systematic calibration uncertainty has a smaller impact compared to the statistical uncertainty.

Summary: Current cosmological data analyses show that a closed universe and interacting scenarios are attractive options for resolving the Hubble constant tension. A stringy perspective on the coincidence problem

Francesc Cunillera et al.

Summary: Dark energy in string theory, taking the form of quintessence field in slow roll, may signal the end of the universe as we know it, possibly through decompactification. A tower of heavy states descending as quintessence rolls may trigger an apocalyptic phase transition in the cosmological dynamics after a certain time, demonstrating a breakdown in the dynamics as the tower becomes light.

In the realm of the Hubble tension-a review of solutions *

Eleonora Di Valentino et al.

Summary: There are significant discrepancies in predictions of the Hubble constant, leading to various proposed solutions including new physics theories or modifications to existing cosmological models. Some solutions successfully reduce tension and improve agreement with data, while many others fail to do so, highlighting the need for further research and evidence.
